On Wednesday, 10th of November, PANCAIM partners and interested public met on Microsoft Teams for PANCAIM’s first open webinar titled “AI in Genomics and multi-omic data integration for pancreatic cancer“. With 6 speakers, 30+ attendees and an hour of high-quality content, it is safe to say that this event was a true success!
In the webinar, PANCAIM experts covered a wide range of topics:
- Henkjan Huisman, Radboud University Medical Center, the project coordinator, offered a few words of welcome and a brief introduction to the core idea of PANCAIM.
- David Chang, surgeon–scientist and Head of Therapeutic Development at the Glasgow Precision Oncology Laboratory (GPOL) at the University of Glasgow Molecular gave an overview of Molecular Taxonomy and Precision Medicine in Pancreatic Cancer
- Tero Antero Aittokallio, Professor at the Oslo Centre for Biostatistics and Epidemiology and Group Leader at the Institute for Cancer Research at Oslo University Hospital, shared relevant insights about AI models for prognosis and treatment predictions.
- Lastly, Evangelina López de Maturana, Staff scientist in Genetic Epidemiology, and Sergio Sabroso of the Spanish National Cancer Research Institute (CNIO) gave an introduction on the current approaches and challenges of integrating of multi-omics and non-omics data for Artificial intelligence.
We would like to thank the speakers for their interesting presentations and the participants of the webinar for their active engagement and difficult questions.
