This year’s edition of the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) has concluded – and PANCAIM was there, amongst the over 20,000 participants gathered in Vienna to share knowledge and innovation in the field! With a record-breaking almost 10,000 abstracts submitted, we are so proud that we had the honor of two presentations for our project – brought about by our amazing PANCAIM colleagues Natália Alves and Megan Schuurmans from coordinator Radboud University Medical Center.

Most important, we proudly announced the winners of the PANORAMA Challenge! With over 160 submitted algorithms, we want to extend our gratitude to all participating AI teams for their incredible contributions to benchmarking pancreatic cancer detection AI. Your efforts have played a crucial role in advancing the field, and we are excited to share all results soon—including insights from our reader study, which involved over 65 radiologists worldwide!#

Additionally, we had the opportunity to discuss the importance of uncertainty quantification in AI, a crucial step toward ensuring the safe integration of AI into clinical practice. We explored both the fundamental principles and the practical applications of uncertainty estimation in AI models, emphasizing how these techniques can improve reliability and trustworthiness in real-world clinical settings.
