We have arrived at the final stretch of the project! After an extension of 9 months was approved by the EC to help the consortium reach the project objectives after incurring some unexpected challenges and delays, we are now entering the final year of PANCAIM.

Last week, 5-6 February 2025, PANCAIM consortium had a very successful hybrid consortium meeting this week in Erlangen, Germany! Together, we took stock of the progress achieved during last months, and made concrete plans for the remainder of the project. It was a great opportunity to connect in person, and pick up momentum to finalise data collection and AI development effort, as well as brainstorm and make first decisions regarding follow-up activities to ensure that all data and knowledge collected and produced during PANCAIM will continue to benefit not only involved partner institutions but also all Europeans on a larger scale.

Additionally, with lots of multicentre, multimodal data collected in our very own repository, and many state-of-the-art AI algorithms in the works, we are now exploring how we can translate these promising innovations into clinical reality to help both patients and doctors deal with the very poor-prognosis pancreatic cancer.

Thank you to Siemens Healthineers for hosting us at the beautiful innovation center in Erlangen, and to all partners for the pleasant time spent together in our second-to-last project meeting!

We hope to share many more exciting project results and outcomes over the coming months!
